Ram Chandra Series book 4 release date : UPDATES - Amish Tripathi

Update

After 3 years of waiting, the latest book of the Ram Chandra series, 'War of Lanka' is now out.

It was released on 3 October, 2022.

It is a massive 500 pages long book. Going by the cover and the number of pages it's giving the Oath of Vayuputra vibes for sure. It's going to be a hell of a ride and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait and patience.

You can check it out and order it on Amazon using the link below.

Ram Chandra series is an ongoing mythological-fiction series by Amish Tripathi about the life of Lord Ram, Lady Sita, and Raavan. Three books have been released as of now.

The first book Scion of Ikshvaku was released in June 2015.

The second book Sita: Warrior of Mithila was released in May 2017.

And the third book Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta was released in July 2019.

Amish is currently working on the fourth book of the series, tentatively titled 'The War of Lanka'.

Amish currently stays in London and is a Director of the Nehru Centre. So it would be difficult for him to manage writing books because of added responsibilities as a director. He also lost his father recently and that must have been a difficult time to cope with for him. So the delay is justified.

This is perhaps the longest Amish has taken between two successive books of a series. The last update from Amish was on his twitter handle recently, where he said that the book will be released in few months. So, hopefully it will be out in May-June of 2022.

Also, here's a fun banter between readers and Amish.

According to me, the fourth book will be released in May-July of 2022. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

However, there are two books released by him after Raavan - Enemy of Aryavarta that are not part of the Ram Chandra series.

Legend of Suheldev was released last year in June 2020, written by Amish and other authors as part of the Writers' centre. You can order it here - https://amzn.to/3elr6wn

Later at the end of the year in December 2020, Dharma: Decoding the Epics for meaningful life was published, authored by Amish and his sister Bhavna Roy.

Coming to the Ram Chandra series, till now the narrative has been multilinear. The timeline of the ending of the three books is the same. So from the next book onwards, the book will be in a linear direction i.e events after the abduction of Lady Sita.

Amish has said that there will be five books in the series. So we will have another two books in the series.

I think in the next book the focus will be completely on the war between Ram and Raavan. The story of Hanuman, Sugriva and Angad will certainly be in detail considering how critical their role was to Devi Sita's search. The fifth book might involve Raavan to a certain extent. However, I'm really interested in the conversations between Raavan and Devi Sita now that Raavan knows that the one whom he has kidnapped is none other than Vedavati's child who he thought died with the mother's death.

This post will give all the updates regarding the title, release date, poster, events related to the fourth book. Keep visiting for the latest information.

Other works in the plan after Ramchandra Series.

In this video, Amish told that he may write Mahabharata after finishing Ram Chandra Series. So most likely Mahabharata is his next series.

On Twitter, Amish talked about writing about Lord Rudra and Lady Mohini. Lord Rudra was mentioned frequently in Shiva Trilogy as well as Ram Chandra Series. So it will be interesting to read his version since the story will be a fresh concept compared to his other works. But that's still a long road ahead.

In the Legend of Suheldev book, Emperor Rajendra Chola was briefly mentioned. He was one of the greatest rulers of India. Sadly, just like King Suheldev, not many people know about him. Amish is hoping to write about Emperor Rajendra Chola in the future as told by him on a Twitter.

    4. Hi. There was talks this year about a movie to be made on Suheldev. Amish will coproduce the movie.

Coming to Mahabharat series, yes Amish has definitely planned to write Mahabharat in the future. He has mentioned it few times that he will start writing it after he is done with Ram Chandra series.

It would be very exciting to read for sure. However, it might take a decade considering how complex and long Mahabharat is.

Recently I have gone through 3 books on Lord Ram. It was amazing and delightful experience. A great salute to our beloved writer.
It is observed that the events from marriage of Ram and Sita are narrated in all 3 books from point of view of Ram, Sita and Ravan. These books end at the incidence of capturing Sita.
Now, I am eagerly awaiting for next book on war at Sri Lanka.
