What is the age of Kvothe?

Image
We're talking about my favourite fictional character from my favourite fantasy series  Kingkiller Chronicle  . To know more about Kvothe visit  here    In the books, the age of Kvothe was never mentioned. So it always intrigued me what would be his age. I t always confused me, since Kote acts like someone well into his 40s or 50s.  Chronicler says in the beginning that it has only been two years. I think that means since the events that happen in Day 3. As he turned the bottles in his long, graceful hands the familiar motion eased a few tired lines from his face, making him seem younger, certainly not yet thirty. Not even near thirty. Young for an innkeeper. Young for a man with so many tired lines remaining on his face. So, it's quite clear that Kvothe is nowhere near thirty.  When Kvothe was with Felurian,  It's only 3 days in the mortal world, but Kvothe still ages while he's in the fae.  later on, with his friends back at the u...

Bees Quarter - Sita Warrior of Mithila

Image
Bees Quarter was a complex of houses built for poor people living in slums in Mithila. It was mentioned in the book, Sita Warrior of Mithila , the second book in the Ram Chandra series.  Sita wanted that the southern gate of Mithila is demolished and new, permanent houses are built for the poor on the same land. These houses were built with money given by Malayputras to Sita just after Sita was declared Vishnu by Vishwamitra. Though the execution had been entrusted to Samichi, Sita had involved herself in the planning and design of the project after consulting the representatives of the slum dwellers. She had eventually worked out an innovative solution for not only their housing needs but also providing them with a sustainable livelihood. The slum dwellers very superstitious so they wanted their new home to be built exactly at the place where the old home was. But the original slum had no street. There were just small haphazard pathways. It was then that Sita came up with...

Vengeance of Indra (Vikramaditya Veergatha #3) - Book Review

Image
In case you don't know,  Vengeance of Indra is a long-awaited sequel to the   Conspiracy at Meru , Third book of Mytho-fantasy  Vikramaditya Veergatha series written by Shatrujeet Nath . The book was released on 5 February 2018. It is available in paperback format and also available on Amazon Kindle. The book consists of 375 pages just like the previous two books of this series.      I have completed reading the book, so I thought I post a review here for those who read my blog. I was confused first. Whether to write in-depth details of the book or just post a spoiler-free review.  Because there are people who have, 1. Read  Guardians of Halahala  &  Conspiracy at Meru   and very much liked it. In that case, you might have already completed reading it. And this review is more than enough for you.  2. Read  Guardians of Halahala  &  Conspiracy at Meru  and didn't like any of them....

Kvothe and Felurian - Kingkiller Chronicle

Image
“I do not believe in faeries,” I tried to say, but it came out as barely a whisper. It was Felurian. - Chapter 94, Wise Man's Fear.       Before Kvothe started his adventure with Tempi, Dedan, Hespe and Dedan, his life mostly revolved around the university. Though there were interesting things happening in the university. Like, his friendships with Wilem, Simmon, Fela. With Masters like Elodin, Alexar, Kilvin. His rivalry with Ambrose since the day he came to the Archives. His occasional visits and interesting conversations with Denna. Music at Eolian, loans from Devi and much more things... But still there needs to be an adventure part that was lacking in The Name of the Wind. Even after the end of the first book, there wasn't any significant magic or adventurous thing that readers were expecting when they picked the book. So I think it was fair for Patrick Rothfuss to introduce the life different from that at the university. A life outside it, wher...

Kingkiller Chronicle - Seven words to make a woman love you

Kingkiller Chronicle is my favourite fantasy series. And one of my favourite thing about these books is when Kvothe meets Denna. Often they meet unexpectedly when all hopes of Kvothe have faded, at places where he wouldn't have expected her to be, whether it's  Trebon, Eolian or Severen.    I love how Pat describes the conversations between Kvothe and Denna. Kvothe being careful not to hurt Denna. There is so much going on in his mind while Denna is talking to him. But since you're obviously here for the charming seven words I have a  list of them.     We first heard about it when Elodin asked Kvothe what are 7 words to make a woman love you. I was eager for a minute thinking what Kvothe would say. But he was speechless at the time. And I forgot about it since then.      But Kvothe has been throwing 7-word phrases about quite often. Now we know when he stumbles across one because Denna mentions it... In addition, she said that he does i...
