Rick and Morty vs Dungeons and Dragons #2 Review 2018

Image
The second issue of Rick & Morty vs D&D series was released on September 26th,2018. Around a month after its first issue was released. The first issue was fantastic. You will love it even if you aren't a D&D fan. Anyone who is a fan of Rick and Morty's signature humour will definitely love this comic. What I liked about Troy little's art is Rick and Morty look closer to their animated counterparts than some of the designs from the main comic series.   In the first issue of the series, Morty went to his grandfather Rick to help to learn the ways of Dungeons and Dragons. However, at the end of the issue, things get crazy once they entered the virtual version of the game. That's when the first comic ended.   At the start of the second book Summer(Morty's sister) and Beth (Morty's mother) is introduced. Anyone watching TV episodes of R&M would, of course, recognize that. They find things all messed up in Rick's room. Meanwhile, Ric...

Rick and Morty vs Dungeons and Dragons #1

Heya folks,   I have been reading Patrick Rothfuss blog since he recently started writing on his blog again. Though, not so frequently. Anyway, he discussed his new comic series that he was working on for months. He collaborated with few other people I guess. Now, I haven't read comics since don't know how long. I mean I did want to but there weren't any around. Nor did I ever think of reading again. But I thought why not give this a try. First reason, it's Pat. I loved all two of his books from Kingkiller Chronicles And loved his writing. Maybe this might be the only book or series of him that I can read for the next few years. So I downloaded the comic - Rick and Morty vs Dungeons and Dragons #1, the first issue of the 4 book comic series.    Morty, while in a school bus hears the conversation of his classmates discussing Dungeons vs Dragons game. Bragging about their skills. Morty didn't know a word about D&D. Me neither when I first heard i...

Review: Murder at the Vicarage

Image
I started reading Christie's books three years ago. The first book was ABC Murder, which was very different from other murder mystery novels I read before. But I liked her writing style. Then I picked Murder on the orient express and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, by now Hercule Poirot was a new detective. Then I read what according to me is the best I read of her - The murder of Roger Ackroyd. Wouldn't go into the details much. But one must read it if he/she is into this genre. When I came across Miss Marple series, I thought Miss Marple is a young lady detective. Charming, wise, intelligent like Poirot. But she is an old lady, but of course with all those qualities of a detective. Somehow, I thought she would be like Oracle in Matrix. You know how she was a soft-spoken, calm and a very observant short hair old woman. The way she was described in the book reminds me of her. I kind of figured out who might be the killer. Or the thought came in very early. So wasn't much...

Kvothe and Harry : Teen Boys in Magic School

Image
Harry Potter is one of the best fantasy series in the history of the fantasy world. The first book came out in 1997 and quickly became popular. The series ended with The deathly hallows in 2007. But in the same year, another masterpiece work by Patrick Rothfuss came out as The name of the wind - the first book of kingkiller chronicle series. This was the first book ever by Patrick Rothfuss and he wrote an amazing work of fiction with his protagonist as Kvothe-The Kingkiller I have found many similarities between these two fantasy series. There are always similarities in fantasy series.  1. Harry vs Kvothe Image source - blog.patrickrothfuss.com   Harry and Kvothe are the main characters of harry potter series and kingkiller chronicle series respectively. At a very young age, both's parents were murdered. In the case of Harry, it was very early in fact. James and Lily were murdered by Voldemort. Whereas Kvothe's parents were alive until Kvothe was 14 or ...

What is the age of Kvothe?

Image
We're talking about my favourite fictional character from my favourite fantasy series  Kingkiller Chronicle  . To know more about Kvothe visit  here    In the books, the age of Kvothe was never mentioned. So it always intrigued me what would be his age. I t always confused me, since Kote acts like someone well into his 40s or 50s.  Chronicler says in the beginning that it has only been two years. I think that means since the events that happen in Day 3. As he turned the bottles in his long, graceful hands the familiar motion eased a few tired lines from his face, making him seem younger, certainly not yet thirty. Not even near thirty. Young for an innkeeper. Young for a man with so many tired lines remaining on his face. So, it's quite clear that Kvothe is nowhere near thirty.  When Kvothe was with Felurian,  It's only 3 days in the mortal world, but Kvothe still ages while he's in the fae.  later on, with his friends back at the u...

Bees Quarter - Sita Warrior of Mithila

Image
Bees Quarter was a complex of houses built for poor people living in slums in Mithila. It was mentioned in the book, Sita Warrior of Mithila , the second book in the Ram Chandra series.  Sita wanted that the southern gate of Mithila is demolished and new, permanent houses are built for the poor on the same land. These houses were built with money given by Malayputras to Sita just after Sita was declared Vishnu by Vishwamitra. Though the execution had been entrusted to Samichi, Sita had involved herself in the planning and design of the project after consulting the representatives of the slum dwellers. She had eventually worked out an innovative solution for not only their housing needs but also providing them with a sustainable livelihood. The slum dwellers very superstitious so they wanted their new home to be built exactly at the place where the old home was. But the original slum had no street. There were just small haphazard pathways. It was then that Sita came up with...
